2007 Incontri Lago Bruno DOC Rosso di Suvereto The Imperial Army met the Commander of Suvereto a Ghibelline city in 1313, to ask for hospitality there and provision for the conservation of the body of the Emporer Henry VII who had died during the expedition. Thus derives the name of the place. Twenty years have passed since the parents of Alessandro Martelli, the current owner, decided to bottle Suvereto wine and many more since the Martellino grandparents used to organise traditional wine harvesting which was always concluded with a big party. Today the firm tries to adapt this ancient passion for wine-making with more modern methods! The family-run business owns 18 hectares of which 12 are planted, a peaceful holiday home which gives a perfect opportunity to sample the produce of the land. Another pearl of the estate is the splendid olive grove from which the extra virgin olive oil comes, and the olives are the Pendolino, Frantoio, Leccino and Moraiolo varieties, harvested between November and December and cold-pressed naturally.
